When a child is critically ill, parents are reluctant to leave the hospital. However, they desperately need a break from the ongoing stress of beeping monitors, hospital lingo, and  busy intensive care units.

 

The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Norton Suburban Hospital is a secure area set aside in the hospital intended to serve as a quiet rest area for family members of babies in the NICU. This place of respite, relaxation, and privacy is a "home away from home" for these families in their time of need. It is equipped with a kitchen, shower, laundry facility, dining area, lactation room, t.v. room, computer area, and four sleep rooms.

 

This Family Room is possible through the partnership between the hospital, March of Dimes, and the Ronald McDonald House.
