About Us

Louisville’s Ronald McDonald House opened on September 10, 1984 and has served over 20,000 families. We provide a home away from home for families of seriously ill children receiving healthcare in Louisville. We offer love, strength and support, just when families need it most.

The mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana is to provide a “home away from home” for families of children receiving healthcare at area medical facilities while also lending support to other organizations who aid children.

“Small and large acts of kindness – one human being to another –

is what the Louisville Ronald McDonald House is all about.”

McDonald’s Restaurants and their customers are very supportive of the Ronald McDonald House. Their efforts and contributions provide approximately 25% of our annual budget. The remaining 75% is raised by the community.
